Fawcett is moving along…. the exterior painting will be complete by the end of the week. Thanks Clay for coming over to lend a hand on the south side of the house. You missed the Malaspina girl’s volleyball team by only a few minutes. They did a great job on the house. (see picture). I’m “overnighting” it every other day and it certainly increases production working from 6am to 9pm. Evenings are spent stripping wallpaper etc., and it’s hot tub at 9:00. I think I’ll only reno houses with tubs from now on!!.
I’ve been meaning to say something about the Denman wildlife. Aside from the deer… which have been a little scarce since we cleared the backyard of foliage, I did see a porpoise from the deck early last week. I’m not sure what kind it was, but had a small black hooked shape dorsal fin. He hung out in front of the house for a few minutes and then was on his way. The resident eagles are making a ruckus around 7:00 am when the young’uns get out of bed.
Last weekend our neighbor, Len, had a “gathering” for us and invited all the other neighbors for dinner. Not your usual big city occurrence.
Glad to hear Billy is feeling better. We’ll have to get together and kill a bottle of red real soon.
We’ve got a new addition to the house as Ashley has a baby rat. “Norman” is a “rex” who has curly hair (and whiskers) and he is very cute for a rat. She had two, but one turned out to be a female, so was promptly returned to the store. Norman will have to wait until next week for a new male friend to arrive.
Signing off for now as I’m up early to return to Cedar.
